The InfoCons app helps you become an educated consumer and lets you know which products to choose! You only need to scan the barcode of the product about which you wish to learn more information and if it is found in our database, you’ll know immediately everything we know about it, including its additive numerical, sugar quantity, salt quantity, other nutritional values or the ingredients that can be found on the product’s label. The app can be used the moment you are home by scanning the products that you will consume at a meal or even in the store from which you are going to buy your products.
The InfoCons app is a tool dedicated to consumer protection. An educated consumer is an informed consumer!
Each consumer regardless of age, gender or location can use this tool that offers them an instant x-ray of the information on the label.

A successful identification of a product offers you the following options:

PREFERENCES: a button that indicates if the scanned product does (green) or doesn’t (red) fit your established options (section “preferences”) regarding the quantities of sugar, salt, the additive numerical as well as the types of food additives in a product or the products selected in section “My products”. If you are not logged in you will see the settings button, which will lead you to “My preferences”.

ADDITIVES: a button that indicates the additive numerical found in a scanned product. If you wish to have more information about the identified food additives, these can be seen by pressing the button.

BUY: by pressing the “Buy” button you will save the product in the “My products” section. In this section you can always select one or more products and see the total quantities of sugar, salt, calories and the number of food additives identified in these selected products. On the second press of the “Buy” button you will be able to remove the product from your list. This is only available for logged in users.

INGREDIENTS: by pressing the “Ingredients” button a list of the ingredients in the scanned product will be shown if it is found in our database.

RECYCLE: by pressing the “Recycle” button you will be able to see a list of the collection centers where you can recycle the packaging of the scanned product.

COMPLAIN: by pressing the “Complain” button you will be able to complete a “Complaint form”, where you can fill in data of the issues you encountered regarding a scanned product. This is only available for logged in users.

FILL IN: if you consider that a product has incomplete data, you can help improve our database by filling in missing information. This is only available for logged in users.

CALCULATOR: by pressing this button you will be able to insert the quantity of a scanned product and you will find the quantity of salt, sugar and calories compared to the selected quantity of the product.

WARNINGS: by pressing this button you will be shown available warnings for this product.

Main menu – My products

Here you will find the products you saved by pressing “Buy” in the page of a scanned product. You can, furthermore, check the option to see the total quantities of salt, sugar, calories and additives.
