The TeamConnect On-The-Go (OTG) app is used to easily connect your Android Team Awareness Kit ( ATAK ) to the simplified TAK Server-as-a-Service named TeamConnect. ATAK users can use TeamConnect to create and manage groups within their organization, federate those groups with each other or with ATAK users in completely different organizations. The TeamConnect service provides high levels of confidentiality, integrity, and security for ATAK users and can instantly scale from low levels of usage to thousands of simultaneous users when responding to a crisis situation. The TeamConnect service also makes available an optional video restreaming capability compatible with the ATAK UAS Tool plugin. Using the federation feature, the TeamConnect video streamer can direct real-time video to specified ATAK or WinTAK users.
The OTG Beacon Mode can also be used as a very ultralight, battery friendly ATAK alternative when only location data needs to be shared with actual ATAK users. Beacon is ideal for use with K-9 units or to simply track the location vehicles or other assets. Using the OTG Beacon eliminates the risk of losing a device loaded with ATAK while extending the battery life.
